Companion

Position Summary:

We are looking for compassionate, attentive companions to care for and assist our clients to ensure they lead safe, healthy living practices by providing assistance in their daily living routine.

 

Companion Job Responsibilities

  • Must be able to read, write and understand the English language

  • Engaging clients by conversing with them, planning and attending to them as they participate in appropriate social activities and hobbies.

  • Handling basic housekeeping, such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, organizing, and laundry.

  • Planning and preparing meals for clients, taking dietary restrictions, and preferences into consideration.

  • Taking a genuine interest in clients by listening to their needs, ensuring that their environment is clean and safe, and providing them with proper food and medication.

  • Monitoring clients, recording and reporting any developments or concerns to appropriate parties, such as company supervisors, doctors, or family members.

  • Driving clients to planned outings or events.

  • Handling errands for or with clients, such as grocery shopping, paying bills, writing letters, etc.

  • Providing emotional support for clients as they heal or cope with their conditions.

Eligibility and Requirements

Education:

High School Graduate or General Education Degree

Computer Skills:

Must have some technological knowledge to be able to navigate through the current phone application (app) used for submitting, ADLs, clocking in/out, etc.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • CPR Certificate (Preferred but not required)

  • HIV Training Certificate

 

All contracted companions are expected to maintain the following:

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Valid Auto Insurance

  • Personal Liability Insurance

  • Determined Eligible by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Level II Background Check

Home Health Aide/Certified Nursing Assistant

Position Summary:

We are looking for a compassionate, attentive CNA to provide help with activities of daily living and personal care services within facilities or the client’s residence in accordance with an established care plan.

 

HHA/CNA Job Responsibilities

  • Must be able to read, write and understand the English language

  • Be readily available when the client needs assistance

  • Provide health care services in clients’ residence

  • Perform domestic and household tasks (Change client linens, light housekeeping, etc.)

  • Must be able to lift, turn, move, position and transport clients alone or occasionally with provided assistance to prevent bedsores

  • Transport clients by wheel chair or stretcher when needed; Transport and accompany patients to doctors office, hospital, grocery store, and etc.

  • Administer simple prescribed medications

  • Assist with clients’ personal care activities (bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding and toileting); Prepare, serve and collect food dishes.

  • Monitor patients (vital signs, temperature, respiration, etc.) and report on their condition

  • Maintain patients care records and document provided services

  • Assist patients with mobility and exercises

  • Provide companionship and basic emotional or psychological support

  • Observe clients’ conditions, measuring and recording food and liquid intake and output and vital signs, and report changes to professional staff

  • Detailing client’s condition with ADL’s

Eligibility and Requirements

Education:

​“Home Health Aide” means a person who is trained or qualified, as provided by rule, F.S. 59A-8.0095(5)(d-e), who has :

  1. Successfully completed a Training and Competency Evaluation Program as specified in State and Federal Regulations, F.S. 59A-8.0095(5)(d-e) OR

  2. Successful passage of the competency tested as stated in paragraph (j), pursuant to section 400.497(I), F.S

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree

  • A Certified Nursing Assistant    must provide proof of valid CNA licensure

  • A Home Health Aide must provide documentation of successful completion of at least 40 hours of home health aide training by one of the following:

  1. Public vocational technical school,

  2. Private career education school licensed by the Florida Department of Education, or

  3. Home health agency, if the home health aide was formerly employed by that home health agency.

Computer Skills:

Must have some technological knowledge to be able to navigate through the current phone application (app) used for submitting, ADLs, clocking in/out, etc.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • HIV Training Certificate

All contracted HHAs/CNAs are expected to maintain the following:

  • CPR Certification

  • 2 Hours of training in Assistance with Self-Administration medication (pursuant to Section 400.488, F.S.)

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Valid Auto Insurance

  • Personal Liability Insurance

Eligibility

  • Determined Eligible by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Level II Background Check

  • Determined Eligible National Sex Offender Registry, OIG Exclusion List. Motor Vehicle Record Check

Registered Nurse

Position Summary:

 Velvet is looking for compassionate, attentive, Registered Nurses to assess the needs of our clients. In doing so, this will allow our well-equipped staff of caregivers to provide the best and appropriate level of care and service to our clients. Our Registered Nurses complete comprehensive assessments (OASIS) and provide skilled care under the orders of a licensed professional with prescribing authority.

Registered Nurse Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write and understand the English language

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • Must meet the physical and health requirements of the agency.

  • Complete knowledge of nursing principles and procedures of skills in the technique of good client/patient care.

  • Ability to maintain decent composure  health and the quality of retaining emotional stability in situations of varying circumstances.

  • Minimum of One year’s experience, as a Registered Nurse OR if recent graduate, minimum of Two years’ experience in Home Health, Home Care, and or Community Health (e.g., Physician Office, Hospital)

  • Determined proficient by taking Pre-Employment RN Competency Test after Conditional Job Offer made, then again as needed- annually at a minimum.

 

Eligibility and Requirements

Education:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree

  • A Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

Computer Skills:

Must have some technological knowledge to be able to navigate through the current phone application (app) used for submitting all reports, clocking in/out, etc.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Licensed Register Nurse in the State of Florida.

All contracted Registered Nurses are expected to maintain the following:

  • Valid Nursing License – State of Florida

  •  Valid Driver’s License

  • Valid Auto Insurance.

  • Required CEU’s, job specific training as required.

  • CPR Certification.

  • Personal Liability Insurance

Eligibility

  • Determined Eligible by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), Level II Background Check.

  • Determined Eligible: National Sex Offender Registry, OIG Exclusion List, Motor Vehicle Report.
